HCL International has a fantastic job opportunity for a Consultant Radiologist to be based in a newly opened treatment centre in South West.

No particular area of specialist interest is sought for this position but wide experience in General and cross sectional imaging is essential, particular expertise in musculo–skeletal radiology would also be welcome.

All full time roles are 40 hours per week. This will include a commitment to provide out of hours on call cover on a rota. Little senior call in is anticipated. Opportunities may arise for further clinical work in addition to the basic contract.

Clinical Duties

The post will require a combination of clinical and support activities as part of the role. This will include a commitment to flexible working to support service delivery and provide out of hours on call cover.
Duties will include the provision of reports upon MRI scans, general X Rays and performing ultra sound investigations. Applicants will be required to demonstrate a high level of clinical skills in the provision of all specified imaging modalities.

Specific role requirements:
1. Responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of clinical care are delivered and that all targets and objectives are met in line with national and local standards.
2. Clinical support for all general x ray services which will be delivered within the imaging department, on the hospital ward, within the operating theatres and out patients. Radiologist will be required to provide all reports for patients who undergo general x ray examinations.
3. Undertake and report on USS.
4. Work closely with other departmental staff and radiologist in supporting peer review and audit of general cases, and implementation of departmental policies.
5. Support and implement quality management systems, governance, clinical procedures and guidelines.
6. Demonstrate and consistently produce accurate clinical reports.
7. Demonstrate commitment to teamwork within and external to the departmental team.
8. Demonstrate a commitment to regular appraisal, revalidation and CPD held with the Medical Director.
9. Requirement to participate in the Treatment centre governance activities, which includes participation and support of research and audit.
10. Ensure resources are used appropriately to deliver service in quantity, quality to agreed timelines.
11. Ensure highest standards of clinical effectiveness at UKSH, including the delivery of local and national recommendations e.g. NICE, College guidelines and national reports.


General responsibilities
In addition to the clinical duties he or she will undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of his/her patients and with the running of the Department. Each consultant will be responsible for producing the appropriate clinical records for each patient.

He/she will be expected to work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of services and will share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management.

Requirements:
- Full registration
- Entry on Specialist Register in Clinical radiology.
- Experience in and demonstrates enthusiasm for, developing various aspects of radiology.
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Clinical radiology.

HCL International urgently requires a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Breast Imaging to be based at NHS Hospital in the Midlands. This is initially a 6 month NHS contract that could lead to a substantive post.

The sessional commitment for this post is 10 programmed activities. There will be commitments to reporting plain films, Ultrasound, fluoroscopy and CT/ MRI, and the new appointee should have a cross-sectional interest. There will be the opportunity to develop special interests in conjunction with the needs of the department. The job plan will contain 7.5 sessions of direct clinical care and 2.5 sessions of supporting professional activity. The appointee will be expected to support audit activity and MDTs.

There is a full on-call service. The new appointee will be expected to participate in the on-call rota which will be 1 in 7

Full and Specialist GMC Registration, and a good command of the English language required. Salary £71,822 to £96,831 per annum based on 10 Programmed-Activities
